Metallica announced that the band is rescheduling a concert in Ottawa, Canada, originally scheduled for October 29th, to November 3rd. The reason? According an email, “the date change is due to a scheduling conflict with a very cool event coming up around that time. We wanted to let you know about the new date in Ottawa ASAP, but we’ve been sworn to secrecy on all other fronts . . . more details in mid to late July.”
No other information was available, and a rep for Metallica also did not have any comment.
Slayer has chosen World Painted Blood as the title of its upcoming CD, which is tentatively due in late summer via American Recordings/Columbia Records. The forthcoming album is being produced by Greg Fidelman and will include the song “Psychopathy Red,” which was sold on limited edition seven-inch vinyl on April 18 in honor of Record Store Day. The band will reportedly film a video for an undisclosed track on July 27. The album came together pretty quickly, as Slayer wrote much of the material on the fly while they were in the studio in February.
