Lazarus A.D. – The Onslaught

Lazarus A.D.The Onslaught

THRASH OR DIE is the motto they live by. Completely remixed and remastered by James Murphy.  For many years of not getting noticed, this all could change.  This disc is a sweet blend of 80’s and modern thrash. The band evokes styles of Bonded By Blood and Testament. Right away it explodes with “Last Breath,” and keeps going strong throughout. Full of attitude and energy, with abusive guitar shredding. Drums are the big factor on this disc and they are very present! With, at times, a pummeling assault of double bass action.

The Onslaught is an excellent album for the metalhead thrasher in you!

4 of 5 stars!

Anthrax Parts Ways With Latest Singer

Thursday, July 23rd, 2009

Just as Anthrax was getting ready to release a new album and do some touring with Slipknot, those plans have been abruptly cancelled due to the departure of singer Dan Nelson. However, the circumstances surrounding his exit from the band are a bit murky. First, Anthrax cancelled the first three dates on the second leg of their European tour due to what they called “Dan Nelson’s unexpected illness.” Then an additional seven European dates were cancelled, scheduled from July 22 to July 30. Finally, on Tuesday, the band issued a statement saying, “The members of Anthrax have confirmed the departure of vocalist Dan Nelson. In light of this development, Anthrax’s slot on the U.S. Slipknot dates set for August and September has also been cancelled. Anthrax is already actively considering lead singer candidates, and look forward to hitting the road before the end of the year.”

Who is Enigamtic?

Interview for All Access Music Magazine by: Liz McCain

This writer has been, going to different local settings in the music scene checking out what Orlando, FL has to offer.  Lately the buzz around town has been “Enigmatic.”  This Orlando based rock band was established in 2004 by Mike Andes lead guitarist, and long time friend Derek Elerbe.  By the summer of 2005 Enigmatic had already carved a name for themselves in the Orlando music scene with bass player Mike Vettel and drummer Pablo Aguiar.  By 2006 the band found themselves without a singer.  Front man Derek Elerbe, now out of the picture, the band underwent a grueling two year auditioning period searching for a singer to complete the lineup, one with not only talent but with chemistry as well.  In late June 2008 singer Chuck Boyle filled that void with not only a diversity of vocal talent but also with leadership and song writing ability.  Since then these four members have been non-stop for the last year and are well on their way to branding their name and sound in venues big and small.
After hearing their latest EP Bend with their new singer, they were a must see performance.  They played at the Dungeon in Orlando, on May 30th and I am glad I popped in when I did.  I was fortunate enough to catch up with the band before their set for an interview and this is what they had to say:
