All bands strive to have their singles put on the radio for the masses to hear. The more potential fans that hear the single the bigger the fan base grows, once the fan base gets bigger, then a tour can happen. If a local band goes on tour with a national act, then there is the potential for that band to become the national act that they strive so hard to become.
